What we do

Portmead Flying Start caters for children aged between 2 to 3 years, for 2.5 hours a day, either in the morning or afternoon session during term time. ( apart from one additional week in the beginning of the summer holidays.)

Who do we support

Families within our catchment area and under the new flying start expansion areas or referred in through their health visitors.

Families eligible for the service will live in the designated catchment area's

  Our opening times and availability

We are available: term time only. Open the same as school terms, except for an extra week at the start of the summer break

We are available during the following school terms:

  • Spring term
  • Autumn term
  • Summer term

We are unable to provide wrap around care.

The language spoken in our setting is English medium setting.

Provider has access to support and advice for Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
We have access to the advice line for help & support, and can refer into ALN panel for possible additional support if we feel necessary.
Provider has a working knowledge of the ALN Act and Person Centred Planning approaches
Staff are involved with the IDP process, and work with the family and designated co-ordinator to get the best outcome for the child
