What we do

LCDP Explorers, childcare service from 6 weeks to 11 years old! We’re part of Llanharan Community Development Project (LCDP), a not-for-profit charity dedicated to supporting local families.

Whether your child is just starting their early years journey or already in school and attending our wraparound or holiday clubs, LCDP Explorers offers a nurturing, creative, and fun environment where children thrive.

The service is for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years old

Can anyone use this service?

The day nursery is for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years of age. Referrals can be made with Flying Start, Health Visitors and Social Workers.

  Our opening times and availability

We are available: all year round. Opening hours vary depending on the needs of families, please contact the office to discuss your needs.

We can provide wrap around care. 3 to 11 years – via wraparound sessions from Dolau Primary, Brynnau Primary Schools

  Our costs

  • £52.00 per Day - Full Day Session (all meals included)
  • £40.00 per Half day - Mid-day Session 9.15am to 3.30pm (includes snack and lunch)
  • £33.00 per Session - Morning Session 8am to 1pm (includes breakfast, snack & lunch)
  • £33.00 per Session - Afternoon Session 1pm to 6pm (includes snack and tea)
  • £15.00 per Session - Breakfast Club (breakfast included and drop off) 7.30am to 8.45am
  • £36.00 per Session - Wraparound (morning session includes breakfast and lunch) 7.30am to 12pm
  • £36.00 per Session - Wraparound (afternoon session includes snack and tea) 12pm to 6pm
  • £35.00 per Day - Holiday Club (School holidays only) 8am to 6pm
  • £3.00 per Day - Collection fee to/ from wraparound session - from £3.00 depending area

We have the following additional costs :

  • £20.00 - Registration fee £20.00
  • £60.00 - Retainer (refunded on leaving with 4 weeks notice)
  • £3.00 - Wraparound service £3 collection is not covered by the Childcare Offer.

  About our service

Provider has access to support and advice for Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
We have a lead childcare worker who is our ALNCO lead supporting children's individual needs working in partnership with education psychologists, health visitors and local schools.
Provider has a working knowledge of the ALN Act and Person Centred Planning approaches
Yes, our ALNCO lead has up to date training and developed individual learning plans to support children's needs in the setting, working collaboratively with families.
Staff have accessed relevant ALN/disability training in the last 2 years?
Our staff undertake regular training with RCTCBC Childcare team and Flying Start.
