What we do

Home based childcare where I care for children in my home. I have worked with children for over 30 years, I have a dog and I'm a non smoker. I'm up to date with all checks and training and am willing to access any more training opportunities I may get. I prepare and cook all food myself and have been awarded a food hygiene rating of 5.
I have easy access to kitchen, playroom, toilet and hall, all on one level.
I prefer not to use technology in my setting, I have a lot of interaction with the children, where we have Wii dance challenges and board games, we play a lot of music, where the children enjoy dancing around. We go for walks and have access to two local parks near my home and also a beach just down the road, we also go to a local hotel which has a soft play area. I take pictures of the children and I will put them up on my private Facebook page which is by invitation only. I will update parents daily with short msg and photos in place of a written daily diary.

Who do we support

Any parents/carers/guardians who need childcare. I am confident at looking after children with additional needs, I have had children in my care who have had dyspraxia and extra educational needs. I was a first response trained and am able and trained to use a defibrillator. I have good backup if needed, my daughter lives a mile away and has a current D.B.S. and mile and i'm in the process of getting her first aid certificate renewed, also my niece who calls every day lives a door away and my friend Tracy Dolphin is a registered childminder.

I have a portfolio that I hand to anyone looking at my childcare setting. I also have a contract and policies package which outline what you should expect from me and my payment policy, there are many vouchers and payment schemes I use within my setting, and am happy to share with my users.

I love my job and all children are important to me.
