Rhondda Cynon Taf Support for Disabled Children - Family support services
What we do
The disabled children’s service works to the vision that a child with a disability is a child first and should be encouraged and assisted to access the same services and opportunities as any other child.
We aim to work in partnership with children and their families and other agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of disabled children and young people.
Some of the support that we or other agencies may be able to provide include:
• An assessment service that can offer advice and assistance.
• Care and support planning • Provision of Short Breaks • Accessible play and leisure activities • 1:1 support to work towards accredited skill building and integration.
• Direct Payments
• Community Occupational Therapy support to reduce the impact of disability within the home environment.
• Specialist advice and support for under 5’s.
• Specialist advice and support for young people reaching adulthood.
