What we do
At the Summerhouse, we look after children after school and during school holidays. We have an 'Early Years' group of two year olds and half day 3 year old children where we do lots of fun activities as we 'Learn Through Play' and we have a different topic each month such as 'Mini Beasts' and 'Goldilocks and The Three Bears'. We are fortunate enough to have a large outdoor play area which is rare in our location which helps the children also explore the world of nature around them and in the environment. We are able to offer the children a 'family orientated' atmosphere and we can offer a more personal learning and play experience as we can provide more attention and care to each of the children. We give the Early Years a hot dinner if they are here a lunch time and for when the children get here after school we provide a small snack to keep them energized until they get home! All meals are freshly prepared on site and we are a part of the 'Tiny Tums' scheme.
Who do we support
We are for children aged 2 - 12. We are open 7:30 - 6:00 Monday through Friday and we can pick up and drop off from the following school currently: Ysgol Dewi Sant, Ysgol Llywelyn and Ysgol Brynhedydd.
We now provied funding from the Flying Start scheme, which provides 2 and half hours free a day for children aged between 2-3, providing the meet Flying Start's postcode criteria.
We have also signed up to Early Education which provides 10 free hours of childcare a week for children aged 3 from January 2021.
