What we do
Flying Start - Early years programme for families with children aged 2-3 years living in disadvantaged areas. There are four key elements: free part time childcare for children aged 2-3, intensive health visiting, access to parenting programmes and language development skills.
Tedi Bach is registered by CIW and provides Flying Start nursery provision within the grounds of Ysgol Pen Rhos, situated on Copperworks Road Llanelli.
Children at Tedi Bach receive 12.5 hours of free childcare over 5 days a week Monday – Friday for 39 weeks of the year term time, which is fully funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Staff within the nursery have appropriate childcare qualifications in accordance with the Care Council Wales framework and are therefore well trained to ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times. Staff also hold valid DBS, food hygiene, fire safety, child protection and paediatric first aid certificates.
Who do we support
The nursery welcomes all children, boys and girls, ages 2-3 years living within the Flying Start areas of Copperworks, Lakefield and Seaside.
We are also able to provide support for children with additional needs.
The focus of the service is on the child and to ensure that all children develop their language, social skills, and that they are emotionally and physically ready to start school.
