372 (Barry) Squadron, Air Training Corps - Children and young people's activities


What we do

“To promote and encourage among young men and women a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force; it seeks to provide training that will be useful in the services and civil life. It fosters the spirit of adventure and to develop the qualities of good leadership and citizenship”.

The air cadets experience the following: Flying, Gliding, Shooting, Aero Modelling, Adventurous Training, Canoeing, Abseiling, Hillwalking, Camping, Parades, Community Relations, Duke of Edinburgh, Fieldcraft &Team Building exercises, Sport (Hockey, Netball, Football, Rugby, Volleyball, Basketball & Circuit Training), Summer / Easter Camps at RAF Stations & overseas trips.

Who do we support

The Air Cadets is a national youth movement, open to young men and women from school year 8 up to 17 years old to join. All cadets can remain until their 20th birthday.

Is there a charge to use this service?

There is a monthly subscription of £15 (covers 9 parade nights and insurance). - Yes

Can anyone use this service?

No referral is necessary - just come along on any parade night where you will be welcomed.

Service details for this children and young people's activities

Language: English medium setting with some bilingual elements

  • Can support children with disabilities / additional needs?
    Depends on the level of disability; however where practical we will accommodate all young people. Cadets who are wheel chair users; have learning difficulties and hearing impairments have all joined 372 squadron and still enjoyed a rewarding ATC career.  Please contact to discuss your child(s) needs further.
  • Relevant staff have a valid current DBS?

Monday & Wednesday evening 7-9:30pm; we are located on Gladstone road, by the Memorial Hall; at the rear of AG Adams funeral parlour.
