What we do

Child Bereavement UK helps children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Who do we support

We offer a national free phone, confidential Helpline which offers support and information. Any adult be they family, friend or professional can call us for advice, support or for those who would like a listening ear.
We offer face-to-face support for children and young people up to the age of 25 who have been bereaved of someone special. Support is through one-to-one or family sessions we also offer groups for children and their families and a group for young people (G4YP) where they can meet other bereaved children and young people.

We also support for parents who have been bereaved of their child or baby at any age, this is also through face-to-face support either individually or as a couple or family. We also offer parent support groups where they can meet other bereaved parents.
We welcome families and individuals of any gender or gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, disability, race, religion, faith, belief, or sexual orientation.


Can anyone use this service?

Our national helpline is available to anyone across the country. Our support services require a referral either through a self-referral or a third-party referral through calling our helpline. Please note that we only take third-party referrals that have the individuals' or families permission.

    We welcome families and individuals of any gender or gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, disability, race, religion, faith, belief,or sexual orientation.

    We will endeavour to source interpreters / BSL interpreters where needed / possible.  Please contact to discuss your child(s) needs further.
