What we do
NYAS provide confidential, professional independent advocacy services to children and young people who are:
- Looked after. Advocacy support can involve issues such as: Contact with family, placement planning, disabilities, transition, short breaks, support to attend LAC reviews, access to legal advice, conflicting views with a social worker, access to files, to make an appeal/complaint.
- Subject to child protection case conferences
- Care leavers
- Children and young people wishing to make a complaint about a service they are receiving from the local authority
Who do we support
We provide an issue based advocacy service for between the ages 0 -18 years. We will also work with young people up to the age of 21 years when they are leaving care and in education.
