Baseball Softball Gwalia - Children and young people's activities

What we do

Baseball Softball Gwalia provides opportunities for young people to play the sports of baseball and softball. We are in 3 locations in Cardiff, and one location in Barry.
Baseball Softball Gwalia is also a community youth outreach organisation dedicated to using baseball and softball sessions as a means to increase social inclusion, increase self-confidence and develop the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership and integrity among underprivileged youth. We also try to help young people reach their full potential, giving them opportunities to develop that other activities may not have provided.
We do this by running sessions in communities in various areas in Wales.
These sessions are dynamic, inclusive, encouraging, open to all areas of the community and all skill levels.
We also deliver after school sessions in a variety of areas, bringing different groups together with healthy competition.

Who do we support

We have TRex Tball for ages 4-9, which is where this age group gets acquainted with ball handling & hitting with fun, dinosaur-themed games. We have Little League baseball and softball for ages 10-18.
We also have Little League Challenger Division opportunities which are specifically designated for children with a disability or additional learning need.
We also have Blind Baseball sessions for the visually impaired from 8 years old upwards.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - Our sessions are normally £5/session. We are willing to work with groups that have specific needs, as we aren't looking to exclude those from disadvantaged areas.

Can anyone use this service?

Any child aged 6-18 can come to our sessions. Those who aren't in that age range may get involved as a volunteer, once they are DBS-checked.
