What we do

Support services for adoptive families and adopted people.
Resources for schools, and for those working in adoption.

Adoption UK Cymru provides peer support and family events to the adoption community in Wales. We offer training at low or no cost on adoption related topics, including a specialist service for Non-Violent Resistance. We also provide a children and young people service, including groups and activities that support adopted young people between the ages of 7 and 30.

Who do we support

Adoptive parents and their children, adopted people, prospective adopters and kinship carers.

Is there a charge to use this service?

Depends - We charge for some training events and some one to one support services but support groups and family days are free. The helpline is available for anyone touched by adoption.

  • Can provide specialist support for families of children with disabilities / additional needs Yes Please contact to discuss your child(s) needs further. We provide youth groups for adopted children age 7 and upwards. These groups provide a high ratio of adult to child support and can cater for children and young people with ASD, ADHD, SPD and other neuro developmental disorders. Where ever possible we will endeavour to cater for other disabilities as well - we do an individual assessment of need for each child or young person who attends.
