V21 Garden Nursery @ Heath Gardening (Vision 21) - Adult Day Opportunities

What we do

Located at facilities across South East Wales, Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru) supports life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities to realise their potential.

V21 Garden Nursery at Heath is open to the public selling a range of plants. As a trainee at the garden nursery you will learn about all aspects of a nursery, from growing plants from seed, completing maintenance tasks, and serving customers.

You will receive training from a friendly and supportive team in an outdoor setting which features two large poly-tunnels, an outdoor staging area and a herbaceous border for planting.

Together, we will develop a training plan to suit you and you could learn skills such as:

Basic customer service and retail skills.
Identifying common weeds, pests and insects.
Making hanging baskets and filled containers.
Potting plants.
Pruning shrubs and trees.
Safe moving and handling.
Sowing seeds and picking out seedlings.
Taking care of animals (rabbits).

Who do we support

People with learning disabilities, age 14+.
