Congress Youth Theatre - Children and young people's activities


What we do

In addition to producing regular productions and performances the Congress Youth Theatre also aims to teach the three main disciplines generally associated with Musical Theatre: Acting, Singing and Movement/Dance.
We aim to cover:
-Acting:
Projection
Articulation
Improvisation
Characterisation
Sight/script reading

-Singing:
Diction
Breath control
Increasing vocal range
Vocal Projection
Experiencing different music genres

-Movement/Dance:
Co-ordination
Timing
Physical/Spatial Awareness
Learning Routines
Experiencing Different Dance Genres

Who do we support

Junior Members
Ages 9 - 11 meet on a Saturday 11.00 - 12.30
Ages 11 - 14 meet on a Saturday 12.30 - 14.00
With their production normally in July

Youth Members
Ages 14 - 19 meet on a Monday 18:00 till 21:00
With their production normally in March

Classes are during term times, however
commitment will increase as rehearsals
will include Sunday afternoons.
