Safe Families - Family support services

What we do

Safe Families vision is to offer hope, belonging and support to children, families and care leavers, we do this primarily, but not exclusively with and through local churches. We believe no one should feel alone. We exist to create relationship and connection because everyone deserves to belong. Safe Families are continuing to support families in Wales who have hit a crisis in their life.

Who do we support

Support to children, families and care leavers.

a. The family can receive regular virtual contact, phone, video calling, messaging. Contact with the volunteer is likely to be more regular. The large majority of the families we are supporting are in this category.

b. The family will need additional support if / when they self-isolate. Therefore alongside the above we are ready to provide this as soon as the need arises (eg. Access to food)

c. Additional face to face support for families who are “vulnerable” and for whom some degree of face to face contact remains critical and is in line with current guidance. With these families we need to have had a conversation with the social worker / referrer to agree the appropriate level of support in light of government guidelines.
Safe Families currently has capacity within its volunteers to offer this additional support over this difficult time for any local authorities.
