What we do

My name is Sian Lowndes and I am a registered childminder with CIW located in the small of village of Caergwrle in Flintshire. I am a qualified teacher of Childcare and Education and have over 10 years experience in training childcare practitioners. I hold a first class BA Hons degree in childhood and families studies and a first class Masters degree in Early Childhood. I am also a qualified Forest School practitioner.

My aim is to provide an inclusive and enabling environment where children learn and develop holistically to achieve their own full potential. I nurture positive attachments with all children to ensure they feel safe, secure and above all are happy and have fun. My setting provides that familiar ‘home’ feel for children, which can help them to settle and feel independent. They can learn and develop as they would in a more structured nursery environment but I have the flexibility to enrich their everyday experiences with outings in the local area.

Who do we support

I provide an inclusive service that is open to all families and children. Through discussion with parents I will assess whether I can meet their child’s needs before a place is offered. Wherever possible I will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments to include all children.

I take children from 12 weeks old up to 12 years old.

I mainly cover the catchment areas of Pen-y-ffordd, Hope, Caergwrle and Abermorddu and school drop offs and collections at particular schools are dependent on existing commitments.
