What we do

We provide specialist and expert advocacy and we help families get victims’ voices heard. Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister. We specialise in guiding families through Inquiries including Domestic Homicide Reviews and Mental Health Reviews, and we assist with and re(IOPC) inquiries and other reviews.

We:
- provide emotional and specialist practical support to families after fatal domestic abuse through listening, informing, guiding, advocating and enabling.
- help families understand, contribute to and influence Domestic Homicide Reviews, Inquests, Mental Health Reviews and other inquiries.
- improve the way these fatalities are reviewed by delivering specialist training to those undertaking homicide reviews and other inquiries.
- help agencies improve their work in preventing domestic abuse
- To increase community awareness of domestic abuse

Who do we support

Families and individuals who have lost a family member to fatal domestic abuse, including homicide, suicide or unexplained death after domestic abuse.

Professionals looking to learn more about helping families after homicide and how to conduct effective reviews.
