V21 Gardening @ Fairwater (Vision 21) - Community Learning

What we do

Located at facilities across South East Wales, Vision 21 (Cyfle Cymru) supports life-changing opportunities for people with learning disabilities to realise their potential.

Our V21 Community Garden runs the full length of the V21 Sbectrwm Centre, is wheelchair accessible and is perfect for those who enjoy working outdoors.

As a trainee attending V21 Gardening @ Fairwater you will be involved in the day-to-day running of a community garden. You’ll learn how to grow and nurture plants from seeds and saplings, receive training in the use of tools for garden maintenance and be shown how to create and maintain outdoor furniture.
Together, we will develop a training plan to suit you and you could learn skills such as:

Growing vegetables and plants.
Identifying common weeds, beneficial insects and pests.
Maintaining and using garden tools.
Maintaining garden furniture.
Planting, hoeing, weeding, watering and tending plants.
Preparing ground and beds for seed/plant sowing.

Who do we support

People with learning disabilities, age 14+.
