What we do
My childminding service is an attachment-style, relaxed, home-from-home environment. With inspiration from Montessori, RIE, and attachment theory, I support and facilitate development through freely chosen play activities. We have a generous back garden including fruit, vegetables, a greenhouse, toys, bikes and large apparatus, our tree which offers protection from strong sun in the summer, and chickens! We have a snake and fish indoors as well. We visit local parks and woods. I promote a healthy attitude towards food and drinks, offering sustainable and healthy food choices through planting, growing, picking, and preparing our food, and through games and conversations. Creativity plays a big part in the children's day as they are allowed to be spontaneous and immerse themselves in their projects. I am learning Welsh and encourage the use of Welsh throughout the day with the children.
I offer a wraparound service to Ysgol-y-Wern in Llanishen.

Are you able to care for children whose main language is neither English nor Welsh?
The child's main language does not have to be English or Welsh for care to be provided. Some level of English or Welsh is helpful, particularly for older children, but not necessary for very young children as they will pick it up as we play and interact. |
